John Gay

Singer-Songwriter, John Gay’s, gritty contemplative sound ripened in prison while he served a nine year sentence for marijuana that started in 2011. During his initial confinement of over five years when he wasn’t on his bunk with his bible, John was in a storage closet at Fox Lake Correctional Institution with his guitar writing music, singing and praying.

After his release from initial confinement in 2017 John started performing his solo acoustic set at various venues around southeastern Wisconsin playing original music he wrote in prison along with covers of his favorite artists such as Jason Isbell, The Lumineers, Chris Stapleton and Zach Williams.
John released his first two singles in 2019, Death Row and Concrete Floor. Grappling with loss and redemption these songs typify much of the music he wrote in that time period. John is raising money to record an album.

Billy Don Burns with Liar's Trial

With a career spanning back to the 1970's, Billy Don Burns has penned songs and produced albums for timeless country artists like Willie Nelson, Connie Smith, Johnny Paycheck, Merle Haggard, and, more recently, Cody Jinks and Colter Wall. As reported in Outlaw Magazine, “He wears his battle scars with honor, depicting the stories of his life in his songs with brutal and beautiful honesty...Billy Don Burns started out in this business working with legends, and somewhere along the way he became one himself”.
Since 2011, Liar's Trial has blazed a trail across the Midwest, playing its own version of roots-driven country music. The band has had the opportunity to share the stage with some of the most prominent names in country music: David Allan Coe, Billy Joe Shaver, Ben and Noel Haggard, Billy Don Burns, Doug Stone, Elizabeth Cook, The Steel Woods, Split Lip Rayfield and The Waco Brothers, to name a few. Liar’s Trial’s latest full length release, 2019’s “Friends in No Places," is a showcase of the group’s deep appreciation for outlaw country. Billy Don Burns himself has given his blessing to the group’s cover of his own “Diablo’s Highway,” a tune that manages to be both harrowing and captivating. As one fan said of the hardworking and heartfelt band after a show, “Y’all are going to save country music.”

Jonny T-bird and the MPs

Jonny T-Bird & the MPs belt out a soulful mix of blues and originality. The MPs stands for MARINATED PUPPETS, which was the name of a band that a few of itsmembers were a part of before they gave birth to this Milwaukee combo. The band’s founding members met while they were studying music at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). Since 2009, their performances included some of southeastern Wisconsin's well-known venues and festivals (Summerfest, State Fair, Miramar Theatre, Cactus Club, Up & Under, The Domes, etc.). With three albums and a WAMI nomination, these guys will never disappoint if you get the chance to hear them live!

Grimm Brothers

Comprised of 4 veteran performer vocalists, among them Wisconsin Association of Music Industry (WAMI) Hall of Fame inductees, The Grimm Brothers featuring Char light up dance floors and concert stages wherever they appear. Repeat visitors to venues like Wisconsin State Fair, Summerfest the Bradley Center and Potowatomi Casino, The Grimm Brothers consistently attract appreciative audiences and keep the cash registers ringing with drink orders from thirsty patrons.

Their music and vocal harmonies consist of an audience pleasing blend of both originals and tributes to some of today and yesterday's greatest artists. During a typical Grimm Brothers show, you'll see Steve Grimm – award winning songwriter and founder of Milwaukee's Bad Boy, on lead guitar and vocals, blending rock, funk and blues in his unique and energy charged delivery of original and covers. Char Fiore follows with the soaring lead vocals and dynamic show she's lent to Speakeasy and the US Project. They are joined by Craig Evans' dynamic lead vocal and the infectious bass grooves he's brought to The Rockerfellers, Bad Boy and Cimmeron. Gary Koehler's percussion propels the group as it has during his years with Rebel Grace, Sky Harbor Band and Greg Koch and the Tone Controls

JJ Eckl

JJ was born and raised in a small town tucked away in the Allegheny Plateau in Elk County, Pennnsylvania. He grew up with a deep love for the outdoors, dirt track racing, and music. After getting his first guitar at the age of 14, he started learning to play, but spent most of his time in the woods, in a garage working on old cars and trucks, or at a race track with his Dad.
It wasn't until after he had gone to college, moved to Virginia to pursue a job in construction management, and an eventual layoff that the desire to do more musically really started to take hold.
JJ moved to Wisconsin in the search for a new job and started working in construction again. With the desire to perform still burning inside of him, Stoney LaRue pulled him on stage and asked him to play a song one night. It was like throwing a match into a bucket of gasoline and JJ started playing his own gigs right away.
It's been more than 5 years since that night and JJ has been performing ever since. He moved to Nashville, TN in 2011 to follow his dream and has spent time as a lead singer and acoustic guitar player in the bands BarKeep and The Lost Maples. JJ is now concentrating on writing and recording his solo album and is in the process of putting a new band together to share his songs and stories with all of you. Stay tuned for more!
